ArsMusica Chamber Opera's mandate consists of four basic elements: Performers, Production Team, Repertoire, and Audience.

ArsMusica Chamber Opera will provide singers of unique ethnocultural ancestry with professional performance opportunities, training, mentorship, and career support. ArsMusica Chamber Opera will feature singers of African Canadian, Caribbean, Chinese, First Nation, Japanese, Latino and other culturally diverse backgrounds.

Production Team

ArsMusica Chamber Opera will provide visible minority directors, composers, conductors, designers, choreographers, and dancers, with the opportunity to work within the realm of professional opera. ArsMusica will also seek to engage the services of established opera professionals (directors, composers, conductors, and additional artists) from all cultural backgrounds to work with the company in training, mentorship and "star production" capacities.

ArsMusica will endeavor to commission and partner in the creation of new operas- particularly operas that represent a unique ethnocultural experience and history. ArsMusica will also partner in the creation of new productions of standard opera repertoire using visually and culturally diverse cast members.

ArsMusica plans to grow and enhance the opera audience in Toronto, Ontario, and Canada by presenting and commissioning opera productions and performances from an alternative cultural perspective and experience. This includes performing in locations, and for audiences currently without access to opera performances, such as our home neighborhood of Weston Mt. Dennis and any additional urban and rural communities under served for live opera.
