Premiere of scene from "Joshua"


Colin Mendez Morris premiered scenes from his new opera "Joshua". The opera is based on the story of Joshua Glover, and escaped slave who was broken out of jail by abolitionists in Milwaukee Wisconsin and settled in Toronto. Performance was part of the History on the Humber Series, on the bank of the Humber River in Toronto. About a mile away from where Joshua Glover lived. Stage direction by Alison Wong. Iris Rodrigues soprano, Michael Toby tenor, and Jeffrey Carl baritone, with the Odin String Quartet and special guest Marco Verza from Italy.


ArsMusica Performance along Humber River Saturday Sept 26th 1:30 PM


ArsMusica will perform a newly commisioned work entitled "The Kabechenong Suite" by composer Mboya Nicholson.

The suite represents 3 time periods from the 20th century along the banks of the Humber River- the 1920's, the 1950's and Hurricane Hazel, and the present day. Below are some highlights from the composer.





ArsMusica to presentlive performance for the Pan Am Games Cultural Celebrations


ArsMusica will premiere a new 10 minute work along the Humber River as part of the Pan Am Games cultural celebrations. 

We are very happy to be selected as one of 4 arts organizations along with Humber River Shakespeare to participate in installation performances celebrating the history of the Humber River Carrying Place.

OPERA CARIBE Created As ArsMusica Partner In The Caribbean


ArsMusica music director Colin Mendez Morris has founded a new initiative to perform opera in the Caribbean-Opera Caribe. Opera Caribe will partner with ArsMusica to share productions and tour. Cherry Ann Mendez of ArsMusica will sit on the Opera Caribe board of advisors.
